Medical Image Viewer (MIView) is a simple image viewer for Dicom, NEMA, Papyrus, Analyze 7.5, Nifti 1, and raster images, including JPEG, GIF, TIFF, PNG, and BMP. The Medical Radiography Program at Bunker Hill Community College includes two options for completion: a full-time 21-month program and a part-time 35-month program. The part-time option.

Radiologic Technology, otherwise known as X-ray Technology, involves using sophisticated imaging equipment to photograph parts of the human body.
The responsibilities of performing medical imaging procedures in this occupation include:
- Assisting physicians by producing images of diagnostic quality
- Explaining the imaging process to patients
- Positioning patients and equipment correctly
- Adhering to the principles of radiation protection
- Maintaining a working knowledge of equipment functionality
- Processing images
- Keeping patient records
Jobs are found in hospitals, physicians' offices, clinics, diagnostic imaging centers, temporary staffing agencies and mobile units.
Mission Statement
The Radiologic Technology program will provide educational activities leading to the preparation of its graduates for employment as radiographers in the healthcare community. The program will offer continuing education opportunities to enhance and/or provide new skills for the qualified practitioner.

The Radiologic Technology program at GateWay has allocated 10% of its available seats for any student in the application queue that currently is or was in the military.

ARRT Advanced Placement:
The Radiologic Technology Program at GateWay Community College is not recognized by the ARRT as an Advanced Placement Program. You’ll find educational programs that offer advanced placement opportunities on the ARRT’s list of recognized programs.
Professional Curriculum Transfer Credits:
The Radiologic Technology Program at GateWay Community College does not accept transfer credit(s) for the required program core courses.
After Graduation
Graduates may advance in their profession by seeking a bachelor's and/or master's degree in a related field. We currently have an articulation agreement with NAU to help advance students seeking a bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Imaging.
Radiologic Technology Accreditation
Accreditation is a process used to measure and certify the credibility and quality of services offered by an organization.
The Radiologic Technology program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) and graduates are eligible to apply for admission to the certification exam administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Passing the ARRT exam and licensure by the Arizona State Medical Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (MRTBE) is necessary for employment in AZ. Our students have reported an excellent pass-rate on this exam.

Tuition and fees are due prior to the start of the program. Book expenses listed above are not part of the tuition. All payments in connection with these activities should be made payable to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and provided to the NM Clinical Schools Registrar.
Certificate Program
Students receiving a certificate and zero hours of college credit pay tuition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. There is no financial aid available from Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Payment
Full tuition is due on the 15th of the month preceding the month in which the program will begin. Statements of Accounts will be given to each student upon acceptance to the program.

Upon receipt of acceptance into the program, non-affiliated students are required to pay a one-time, non-refundable tuition deposit of $250. The deposit will be deducted from the total tuition.
